Parents Matter recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents to improve their children's lives and our response is to involve parents in identifying the right support for each child and each parent.
Current research has shown that as a parent you have the greatest influence on your child - particularly when they are young.
Here's how your Parent Support Advisor can be of help to you:
School Attendance - The PSA will work with you to try and nip truanting in the bud before it becomes necessary to involve the Education Welfare Officer - remember, you could be faced with a considerable fine and possibly a jail sentence if your child continually misses school!
Parental Involvement with school - Maintaining regular contact with the school and taking an active part in your child's education is crucial. Arranging home visits or just meeting for a coffee can sometimes help parents to cope with difficult situations and resolve issues at an early stage
